In the cosy forest ranger's house, the forester and his family lovingly look after the animals and plants of the forest. While the forester chops the firewood outside with his axe, the forester's wife heats the open fireplace and prepares a strong coffee for refreshment. In the meantime, the young son climbs into the attic to check on the food for the forest animals. "Do you want to pick some more mushrooms?" asks mummy. He immediately dashes downstairs and grabs a basket.
